What can I say about myself that is interesting to someone else. Hmmmm..... I am a mother, first and foremost and my kids are very important to me. Also, even though this was hard to admit, I am a Grandma. Love them soooo much. I am also a girl friend. I have someone in my life who loves me. It's a wonderful feeling. Also, I have a great job. I am not going to reveal how many years I have worked at my job in the travel business but it is over a quarter of a century. Yikes!!! Anyway, thanks for visiting me. I will try to update and keep my blog interesting so you can keep up with me and my life.

Pitter Patter

Sometimes I just fall in love all over again.
My sweetie and I have been together about 5yrs. We have both been married before, both have children from previous marriages, both have very strong personalities.  I’ve got to be honest; our relationship sometimes is pretty tumultuous.  We wonder if we are going to make it as a couple.  He is set in his ways and so am I.  But always at the end of the day we still want to make it work.
Now, the reason for this post.  We have had our house for 4 yrs.  I have always wanted to get rid of the carpet in the living room and hallway.  And the past year I have gotten to the point where I just don’t want to shampoo it again.  I want it gone!!  I want to replace it with wood.  I have been pricing and looking for a year.  We just couldn’t fit it into the budget, until this week.  Cost Co!!!  They had such a smoking deal on laminate.  Finally, we could afford to buy it.  But that is just buying it, the flooring still needed to be installed.  That’s where my sweetie comes in.  I brought home the flooring and he had already ripped up that nasty, ugly, dirty carpet.  He had already watched a video on how to install this particular brand of laminate.  He said, “Don’t worry babe, I got this”.  So all day yesterday, on Super Bowl Sunday, he measured and cut and installed the flooring.  Of course the game was on the TV in the other room.  LOL

At the end of the day, I made him a great meal and he was talking about being tired but how he loved the way the new floor looked.  We were laughing because the dog couldn’t quite figure out how to jump on the couch now because her paws were slipping on the new flooring.  I said to him, “Thank you so much for your hard work”.  He said to me, “Baby, I did this for you because you are worth it”.  Talk about my heart going Pitter Patter.  I really love this man!!!

  6. What a pretty floor! He had a nice feeling of accomplishment I'm sure!

The rose bush is a GREAT gift! My husband's aunt grew prize winning roses by the hundreds...she put her hair from her hairbrush on them as well as eggshells, coffee grounds and toenail clippings!
