My new favorite spot

In a little spot in the bedroom.  Comfy chair, my new lap top, a quilt if I get a chill.

Really, I should have made the bed before this post but I figured I would show the real me.  My bed gets made maybe 4 days a week.  Today was not one of them. Sooo.... now you know.  Oh, and having a lap top is awesome.  I don't have to share!!!!

An Adventure

We went on a little adventure.  We wanted to visit our friends in Mesa and it is a long drive soooo.... we thought we would try the new light rail. 

We hopped on and enjoyed the ride. I liked it because I love to people watch.  We made a stop on the way.  We stopped at Cooperstown.  It is a sports and music bar and restraunt owned by Alice Cooper.  It was a good place to stop on our adventure.  It is supposed to be where Jocks meet Rock.

Addicted to words

I think I have a problem.  I didn't realize it until one of my daughters friends was laughing about it.  He said every where he turns in my house are words.  I looked around and he is right.  I think I love words!!
See!! I didn't realize it until I started taking pics. 

I didn't include everything.  I probably still have 10 more words around my house.  Maybe I better ease up on the words!!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

King and Queen of Hearts

I belong to the Fraternal Order of Eagles.  Our motto is “People Helping People”

This is Tommy and I last June when we were named AZ State Heart Fund King and Queen.

You are probably wondering, Uhhh!!  What’s that?  Well,  in the State of AZ we raised the most money for the Max Baer Heart Fund.  We had a charity golf tournament, we cooked so many breakfasts that we lost count, we had bake sales, we did taco nights and chili nights. 

We have the title for a year and this coming June we turn the title over the next team who raises the most money. 

Just thought I would share something about myself that my new blogging friends didn’t know.  I am the 2010-2011 Queen of Hearts.

PS  Don’t you just love Tommy’s crown.  Thank goodness the dog chewed it up and we got him a real crown, from Burger King!!

A good time and an elephant

This is my BF.  Her name is Brenda.  She has been my friend for longer than I care to tell.  Let me see, we were best friends way before I had kids and my oldest is now 26 sooo….. that’s a long time. For years we spoke everyday.  We saw each other practically every day.  Our kids went to the same school, had the same circle of friends, we worked out together and so on …  We have seen each other through a divorce, new jobs, and all the drama that sometimes comes with life. We actually had the Sex in the City kind of friendship.  We knew everything about each other. 

But, life kind of took us in different directions the past five years.  Things just haven’t been the same.  I would get upset because I didn’t think she wanted to hook up.  She would avoid me because her life was in somewhat of a turmoil.  We would argue and then not speak for a while.  I was selfish, I think.  I didn’t like only staying in touch by texting and face book.  I had higher expectations. 

But, I have come to realize and see that she we can’t always have the same kind of friendship.  Things change and I need to change with them.  I need to be more understanding. 

In my “Pretty Good List” I had two things I wanted to work on.  One was not to have such high expectations of my BF.  And another was my way is not always the right way. So, bottom line, I had dinner with Brenda and we talked for hours and I am more accepting of the texting and face book. 

Brenda, this post is dedicated to you.  Love you more than you know!!!

Oh and we had dinner at the Elephant Bar.

Spring Time in Paris

We turned our office cafeteria into Paris.  We have all been working so hard that the Employee Engagement Committee wanted to show some employee appreciation.  And to go along with a big trip to Paris we went with the Paris theme. ps, I don't get to go on the Paris trip this year :-(( 

Starting to look like spring

I went to an antique shop and I fell in love with a planter.  I don't think it was a real antique, I think someone made it look old but I loved it just the same.  But, it was way out of my price range.  Soooo..... I took a pic and asked my sweetie if he could make me something like it. This is what he came up with.  Not as old looking at the one I liked but I LOVE this one.  He made it for me!!

Look at it today after a trip to the nursery.  It makes my front porch very inviting and colorful.  I am hoping that all the small plants I bought will grow into big beautiful flowers that can be seen from the street.

Oh, and we also have a new baby.  A baby Ash Tree that it.

Lovin' the new flowers!!

Even if the foliage in the yard is still dead my window looks great!!  If you look close you can see in the back yard that we still don't have the spring flowers.  We have had a bit of a cold spell.  But I always keep fake flowers in the window.  I got these plants at a dollar store!!!
